PD_2010_COTYPD_2010_ChauffeurJaguar’s spectacular new XJL 3.0D has been voted the top car for Britain’s chauffeurs and private hire drivers. It’s the overall winner of Professional Driver Magazine’s Car of the Year Awards for 2010.

The luxury limousine also won the Chauffeur Car of the Year category in the Professional Driver Car of the Year Awards. This turned out to be the closest-fought category, and the Jaguar XJL faced tough competition from the Mercedes S350 LWB and last year’s winner, the BMW 730Ld.

But ultimately, the XJL makes such a bold statement, and offers such an exceptional drive, that it took the Chauffeur car of the Year class win. And with the highest total score, it fought off the other category winners – Skoda Superb Estate (Private Hire Vehicle of the Year), BMW 530d Grand Turismo (Executive Car of the Year) and Ford Galaxy (MPV of the Year) – to win the ultimate accolade.

Mark Bursa, editor of Professional Driver Magazine, said: “The new Jaguar XJL makes a statement that none of its rivals can match. The judges loved the XJ’s looks, its beautiful and distinctive interior and outstanding driving dynamics.”
