Used Vauxhalls gain 100,000-mile ‘lifetime’ warranty
Used Vauxhall cars sold through the company’s Network Q used car dealers now carry the same “lifetime warranty” as new Vauxhalls.
The Network Q Lifetime Warranty is valid for 100,000 miles but there is no time limit, hence the claim that the warranty “could last a lifetime”. It applies to the second owners of cars less than 12 months old and with less than 30,000 miles on the clock, and only applies to cars bought from a Network Q dealer.
The warranty is not transferrable if the car is sold, and in order to validate the warranty, customers must maintain the service schedule and bring their cars back to a Network Q dealer once a year for a free check. And once the car has covered 60,000 miles, it must be serviced at a Vauxhall dealer for the remainder of the warranty – though until it has covered 6,000 miles it can be serviced at an independent garage.
Vauxhall’s Lifetime Warranty was launched on new cars last August. Network Q sold 80,000 used cars in the UK last year and expects to sell 100,000 in 2011. The Network Q Lifetime Warranty covers major components including powertrain, steering, brakes and electrical equipment.
Vauxhall managing director Duncan Aldred said: “The warranty raises the bar even higher, adding peace of mind and strengthening residual values, which can only benefit the consumer.”
