Audi A7 Sportback gives clues to next A6
Audi has released the first details of its new A7, which takes the Sportback formula of the A5 into a bigger car. And the new car gives strong clues as top the look of the forthcoming new A6, due to be unveiled in 2011.
The A7 Sportback is longer and wider than the current A6, but with a lower roofline. It’s a driver-oriented car, Audi says – think of it as a competitor to the low-slung Mercedes CLS rather than the taller BMW 5-sseries GT.
A7 Sportback will go on sale in Britain in January 2011, priced from £43,745 OTR at the forthcoming 20% VAT rate. Engine choices include the acclaimed 3.0-litre TDI in 204PS and 245PS forms, as well as seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch sports transmission on all Quattro versions. Options include parallel park assist, all-LED headlights, head-up display and adaptive air suspension
