Cabot partners with Etihad on economy chauffeur service
Leading London chauffeur company Cabot Group has teamed up with Etihad Airways to launch a new chauffeur service for the Abu Dhabi airline’s economy class passengers travelling from London Heathrow airport.
Cabot already runs a complimentary chauffeur service to and from Heathrow airport for the airline’s Pearl business class and Diamond first class passengers, and arriving or departing economy travellers can now select a paid-for service, which Etihad says “is competitively priced, with rates comparable to London’s black cabs”.
Cabot has developed an online booking service for the airline, which is integrated into the Etihad website. This allows them to choose vehicle type and standard of service, including people-movers for larger groups. Cabot Group chief executive Farooq Saleem said: ”We only went live a week ago, and so far we’ve had about 10 bookings. We’re only offering the service through heathrow at the moment but we are about to open an office in Manchester, and we’ll look to offer the service from Manchester Airport next, and then roll it out globally.
Saleem said the potential was huge – Etihad operates six flights in and out of Heathrow every day, each carting up to 290 passengers. “It could be a huge business for us.” Cabot has reception desks with an eight-person team at Heathrow’s Terminal 4, where Etihad operates, and a second desk at Terminal 3.
Customers using the service are guaranteed a BMW or Mercedes chauffeur vehicle; the chauffeur will greet them at the arrivals hall and drop them off kerbside.
Etihad’s Chief Operating Officer Peter Baumgartner said: “We designed this innovative new service in response to customer research highlighting that our guests would be keen on such an offering. We look forward to extending this offering to other destinations in line with customer demand.”
