Chrysler slashes 300C prices as sales tumble in 2013
The price lists have been torn up at Chrysler, with the executive-class 300C now boasting a price tag that is £10,005 less than before the New Year celebrations. At the same time, the model range has been slimmed down to a single high-specification model, powered by the 236bhp 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine.
Before the latest January 2014 price list was revealed, the Chrysler 300C in up-market Executive specification was priced at £40,000. But that has now been cut to just £29,995, a saving of just over 25%, and in line with the first-generation 300C, which proved extremely popular with chauffeurs. The previous Limited entry-level version has been discontinued with immediate effect, as last year, more than two-thirds of 300C buyers opted for the plusher Executive model.
Chrysler had to take action on the 300C’s pricing as the high price tag has been putting off buyers and hampering sales. Just 194 examples were registered during 2013, down almost 10% on the previous year’s tally of 215, achieved in just seven months after the car went on sale in June 2012.
