Gold success at last for Airport Lynx

Having won Silver and Bronze awards in 2014 and 2015, Cambridgeshire chauffeur operator Airport Lynx made the top step of the podium in 2016.

The Cottenham-based company has won the prestigious Gold award in the Chauffeur Operator of the Year (11-30 vehicles) category of the 2016 Professional Driver QSi Awards, the only national awards for the taxi, private hire and chauffeur industry. In addition, Airport Lynx grabbed Bronze in the Marketing Award category.

Professional Driver magazine editor Mark Bursa said: “Airport Lynx has come close to the top step of the podium before – but 2016 is the year that this innovative and professional Cambridge company finally gets the Gold. Airport Lynx combines service reliability with innovative marketing and great branding. As its name suggests, it focuses on airport runs – mainly from Cambridge’s thriving academic and technology sectors to and from Stansted and, especially, Heathrow.”

Last year Airport Lynx introduced a luxury minicoach to the fleet, and this has been in almost constant use. And the company’s innovative approach includes an assisted check-in service, with the driver helping nervous groups of foreign travellers through the airport.

Commenting on the Marketing award, Bursa added: “Airport Lynx has an impressive and highly creative marketing programme that blends a strong involvement in events with a very thorough customer contact programme involving newsletters, blogs, social media and telephone work. Factor in a smart corporate image and there is strong evidence that marketing is the driver for growth at the business.”
