Plug-in Prius will meet TfL ULEZ proprosals

Toyota has revealed a new Prius Plug-in at the New York motor show. The model is a significant advance over the previous version, offering an all-electric range of up to 31 miles – making it compliant with the proposed TfL ULEZ rules that could come into force from 2020.

Toyota claims a rather fanciful combined fuel economy return of 202mpg for the car, and just 32g/km CO2 emissions. Advanced technology on the car includes the world’s first solar roof charging and gas injection heat pump air conditioning for use with EV mode.

The new Prius Plug-in will be available in UK showrooms from the end of this year. The car will qualify for a Category 2 Government plug-in grant of up to £2,500.
