The Mercedes-Benz S300L BlueTEC Hybrid is Professional Driver magazine’s Car of the Year for 2014. The luxury saloon has been voted the number one choice for the Chauffeuring and Private Hire industry thanks to its outstanding combination of interior luxury, hi-tech safety systems and outstanding fuel economy and low CO2 emissions, thanks to a well-packaged diesel hybrid powertrain that does not compromise rear seat luxury or boot space.

London Private Hire operator Greentomato Cars’ longest-serving driver has been chosen as Britain’s best private hire or chauffeur driver by Professional Driver Magazine, winning the Gold medal at the magazine’s prestigious annual QSi (Quality, Service and Innovation) awards.

Northern operators again put in a strong showing at the Professional Driver QSi (Quality Service and Innovation) Awards, the only national awards for the growing private hire and chauffeur industry.
Companies from Cumbria, Northumberland and Wearside took three of the 10 Gold awards on offer, with a fourth Gold medal also heading outside London, proving the strength of the sector across the UK. “It’s easy to look at the industry as being London-centric, but that’s clearly far from the case,” said Mark Bursa, editor of Professional Driver Magazine.
Addison Lee has launched a major new marketing campaign designed to maintain its market position against strong competition from App-based services such as Uber and Blacklane.
It is the largest marketing investment that the firm has made in London to date. The six-figure campaign, titled “Cool, Calm and Collected”, is designed to highlight the simplicity and comfort of travelling with Addison Lee. It signals a refresh for the brand, which focuses on business and premium leisure users.
