Addison Lee has launched a ‘Donate a Ride’ campaign to offer free rides to and from hospital for NHS workers in London.

Addison Lee has backed the scheme with £50,000 of funding, and is asking its corporate clients to put money in too. Within  12 hours, public donations had pushed the fund past the £100,000 mark.

A spokesperson said: “The initiative is part of Addison Lee’s commitment to support the nation’s capital in the fight against coronavirus by ensuring those on the frontline can get to and from work safely, comfortably and efficiently.”

The free rides will be made available to NHS trusts within the M25. Addison Lee will work with the trusts to distribute the donations and allow workers to access the initial free rides. As more partners join the scheme, more free rides will be offered.

Addison Lee CEO Liam Griffin said: “With ‘Donate a Ride’, in partnership with our corporate customers, we’ll make getting to and from work as easy and safe as possible for those on the frontline. In addition to ‘Donate a Ride’, we’re working with our Driver Partners to help the government, NHS and retailers keep the things that matter in London.
