Another Chinese manufacturer has announced plans to sell cars in the UK. XPENG will start sales of its first UK model, the G6 SUV (pictured), next month, with launch price starting at £39,990. The XPENG G6 offers 800v charging and a driving range of more than 350 miles.
The cars are being distributed by experienced UK importer International Motors, and the company plans to have 20 dealerships up and running this year.
The G6 will be followed by a number of other XPENG models, including the P7+, a four-door saloon that was exhibited at the Paris Motor Show last October; a large SUV called the G9 and a seven-seater MPV called X9.
XPENG is also keen to enter the flying taxi market with the eVTOL X2 flying car by XPENG AEROHT, an XPENG subsidiary and Asia’s largest eVTOL company
XPENG has been building up sales in European LHD markets since entering the Norwegian car market in 2021. It is now also present in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal and Ireland.
“Our launch in the UK marks a significant step in XPENG’s European and global expansion,” said Dr. Brian Gu, president of XPENG. Founded in 2014, XPENG is one of the fastest-growing high-tech automotive companies in the world and has delivered more than 620,000 EVs worldwide.
