Addison Lee’s electric fleet has been selected as the official car of the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards, to be held at the Royal Albert Hall this Sunday, March 13.
The presenters who will announce the winners will be travelling to and from the show, and the dinner at the Grosvenor House hotel, in the back of Addison Lee’s Volkswagen ID.4 electric cars.
Using the ID.4 electric vehicles will reduce CO2 emissions by 200kg on the night, compared to using conventional diesel vehicles.
Addison Lee announced last year it would move to a completely electric passenger car fleet by 2023, In September 2021, Addison Lee announced a £160m order for Volkswagen ID.4 EVs, and began rolling the cars out last November. It already has 825 zero-emission capable black taxis as part of its ComCab black taxi business.
“We’re very proud to be part of this momentous event and help get TV and film’s finest to the EE BAFTA Film Awards sustainably and safely,” said Liam Griffin, Addison Lee’s CEO. “Our pledge to go fully electric by 2023 is our commitment to a cleaner London and supporting the Mayor’s goal of a net-zero city by 2030.”
