Veezu’s Leeds-based division, Amber Cars, has acquired Premier Cars Leeds to strengthen its offering across West Yorkshire. The move reinforces Amber Cars’ position as the largest taxi and private hire vehicle operator in the city.

The acquisition of Premier Cars will add an additional 300 licensed vehicles to the Amber Cars fleet, taking the total fleet to 1,250 across West Yorkshire. The cars will operate under the Amber Cars brand.

Amber Cars managing director Andrew Pennock said: “The team has worked incredibly hard over the past few months on this latest acquisition and we are very pleased to be welcoming Premier Cars to the Amber Cars team. We pride ourselves on the service we provide to the people of Leeds and the surrounding areas and we’re excited at the prospect of creating even more amazing journeys for both driver-partners and passengers through our increased capacity.”

As a result of the Coronavirus crisis, Amber Cars has now expanded its service to help local communities during social distancing, as well as vulnerable individuals who may be self-isolating. This includes the introduction of supermarket deliveries in the form of a ‘you click, we collect’ service, as well as the transportation of key workers, medical supplies and prescriptions.

Amber Cars is one of Veezu’s five service hubs throughout the UK, each operating under established local brands. The others are A2B Radio Cars in the West Midlands, V Cars in the South West, Dragon Taxis in South Wales and the recently acquired Go Carz in Shropshire.
